Top 10 Pizza Shop in Pittsburgh City, Pennsylvania, US
Pittsburghers love pizza. Also, assuming you request that anybody name their beloved nearby spot, youre bound to get an energetic, extensive reaction. So to pick 25 pizza spots worth focusing on, our eatery pundit, Valentina, went all over, eating countless steaming hot cuts nearby. The discoveries? Classifications like American, connoisseur and valid Italian presently don’t have any significant bearing, since most places offer connoisseur garnishes, and realness is normally founded on a particular time and district in Italy. Here List of the Pizza Shop in Pittsburgh City.
In any case, we found that there is a huge contrast between pizzas cooked in ordinary and wood-terminated stoves. (A few joints heat gas or electric stoves to 450-500 degrees and prepare pies for as long as 15 minutes, while others cook them for five minutes or less in 900-degree wood-terminated broilers.) Our rundown incorporates a blend of dependable fan top picks (like Mineos, Aiellos, and Pasquarellis), and newbies (like Spak Bros., Slice on Broadway, and Cucina Bella), generally deserving of acknowledgment. Appreciate!
1. Caliente Pizza & Drafthouse
Andi B: The pizza is amazing. My boyfriend tried the meatball sub and said it was just okay; standard meatballs and not enough sauce. The service we’ve received in the few times we’ve gone has been friendly and attentive.
Brit Rein: Caliente ranks high on satisfaction every time. Food & service are quality! Customer service goes above & beyond; they are friendly and helpful. The food is consistent & they have gone out of their way to correct any mistakes, no matter how big or small. Impressive all the way around! I will continue to be a loyal customer.
2. Piccolo Forno
Jordan Paterson: Haven’t been to Piccolo in a long time and still as good as ever! We went for a late lunch and got the the Lasagna and Tortelli dishes. Everything was on point and service was very attentive. Finished with Tiramisu to cap off a great experience.
JOSEPH LONGO: We held a rehearsal dinner at Piccolo Forno for my son and his fiance last week. This was an awesome venue for it! We did not know the restaurant, but judged by reviews and photos. Everything went perfectly. We had surprise allergy issues with two of our guests, which the staff dealt with swiftly, and well. We were completely happy with the experience, and highly, highly recommend this place! Our group was 35, and the upstairs room we used was perfect for it (we probably could have fit 40). We had it set it up as a drink room, an appetizer station, and seating for meal service, allowing space for cocktail hour mingling in the 3-room space. The food was excellent, and satisfied our Italian family (several immigrants from Puglia, one of which is a professional chef). Anyway, I can’t say enough good things about Piccolo Forno.
3. Fiori’s Pizzaria
Muhammad Mian: Fiori’s definitely lives up to the hype. I was surprised to see the staff being very friendly even though they are usually extremely pizza with half a dozen people making pizzas at any given time. My veggie pizza had a generous helping of all the different vegetables I’d requested, with plenty of cheese and sauce really tying it together.
Kristen Jorgensen: We absolutely loved this place! We went by recommendation of Dave with Barstool Sports and were not disappointed. The staff were so friendly, and very customer service oriented. People were constantly coming in, and they handled It very well and treated everyone like they were important and were wanted there. The Pizza was AMAZING!!! I would rate It 10/10!
Julia H: Hands down best pizza in the Burgh. I love their sweeter sauce and crust. Super cheesy, and my favorite part is that they put toppings under the cheese. No curled up and burnt pepperoni on top! There is a huge debate on who truly has the best pizza in Pittsburgh, but Fiori’s will always have my vote.
4. Driftwood Oven
Doha A: This pizza was amazing! I swear the dough is absolutely amazing! I don’t know how this place isn’t such a big hype. The service was really great and although I only tried a pizza and the bagels I 100% recommend if you’re a fan of sourdough.
Steve Ross: Their pizza is fantastic. A little expensive but very good. I was a little annoyed that I walked in at 4 and asked for a pizza to be ready at 5 and they wouldn’t do it. They said they don’t do that. Having said that, they are a top 5 pizza for sure in all of Pittsburgh,
Brian Melcher: I’m going to start this review by giving kudos to the employee at the front. She was fun, personable, and made the experience. The pizza was great, we ordered the S.m.o. and it’s absolutely delicious. We were surprised to find they had Leona’s ice cream sandwiches as well, pleasantly surprised. Thank you!!
5. Caliente Pizza & Drafthouse
Ikc: Read the reviews so I decided to give this a try. Parking could be very difficult at times. I went there about 1pm. I quickly glanced at the menu and ordered the margarita pizza. While sitting waiting for my pizza I looked at the menu a little closer and I saw something on the menu that I didn’t know existed. Duck pizza(The quack attack). I tried to cancel my margarita pizza order but it was too late. So I told him I would take it to go and had the quack attack pizza. If you like a duck you must try this pizza. But they only make 23 orders of this pizza a day. I will definitely be ordering this again.
Elisabeth Aupke: The food, the beer, the service was wonderful… My husband chose Caliente for his birthday dinner. He loves the pizza and while I anxiously await a gluten-free pizza (please), I had a really good fresh greens salad with chicken and a cider, delightfully poured… We bring all our visiting guests to feast on a Caliente pizza. The Aspinwall location is our favorite.
Aim Teresa Comperatore: This has got to be my newest among “Favorite places to go for pizza”. Oh, the Buffalo Chicken Bread was spectacular. I could have that alone and be in heaven. The pizza was great. Not greasy. Fantastic crust. Incredibly kind servers & hostess. Yes! I will be back!
6. DiAnoia’s Eatery
Lindsay Mitchell: Let me start off by saying I have had the food from the pizza window, but never actually had a proper dinner in the restaurant until last night. The atmosphere is relaxed, and everyone is super friendly and helpful. Everything is incredibly delicious and authentic. Highly recommend checking this place out, if you have not already.
Rob Goelz: DiAnoia’s eatery is the best Italian restaurant in the Strip District. All of the food on the menu is delicious, but I have a soft spot for the meatballs, which are deliciously browned on the outside and tender on the inside.
Beyond the outstanding food I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the staff. The customer service outstanding and they have always taken care of my family even on a busy Friday.
On a slightly related note, if you are in the mood for pizza, make sure to nip around the back and check out Pizzeria Davide, which is attached to DiAnoia’s. Outstanding pie and you really can’t miss with either dinner option here!
7. Spak Brothers Pizza Shop in Pittsburgh City
Sarah Harmon: Amazing for vegans! I got their seitan wings with bbq sauce and vegan ranch and a calzone with vegan cheese, mushrooms, and onions. Would definitely recommend.
Tyler Nace: I love the crust – it reminds me of my middle school pizza from the cafeteria. And the options to get vegan sauce, wings, and pizza toppings is great! I loved the Vegan Buffalo sauce and the vegan wings.
Doug Goodman: Daughter loves the vegan pizza! Had some trouble with the online ordering but took our order at the door, were very accommodating and pleasant! Thank You!
8. Iron Born Pizza Shop in Pittsburgh City
Gina Valotta: Just moved to the area and decided to try this pizza. It’s incredible! The white pie has so many flavors. In case anyone’s wondering, a 6-slice pizza is enough for two people because the pieces are so thick. Took about 45 minutes for a weekday dinnertime order. Worth the wait for some of the best pizza I’ve ever had.
Ingdao C: Tried the famous white pie and we were not disappointed! Would return to try different stuffs. The price isn’t bad at all for the food. Very creative pizza and perfect combinations ever!
Colin Maddix: Very helpful and joyful customer service as they loaded 20 boxes Of delicious smelling pizza into my car to deliver to a Halloween party today!
9. Giovanni’s Pizza & Pasta
Laura Booher: We have ordered from this restaurant frequently during this year of take-out orders. My husband can’t eat gluten, so their many gluten-free entree and side options are amazing. Their alfredo sauce contains no gluten, which is fairly unusual for Italian restaurants, and they even include gluten-free garlic bread, which I rarely see anywhere else. Their bread twists are my personal favorite. Delicious, fresh, and lots of options, this remains a favorite for us.
Lauren McCracken: we appreciate the variety in the menu(gluten free, vegan, etc), catering options have been lifesavers for last minute gatherings, and the pizza is great. fantastic customer service as well!
Stephanie Yearmoski: Family-owned and operated! Pizza sauce is sweet, cheese is fresh and stringy. Made with respect for the craft. Homemade ranch plus many more made to perfection!
10. Mamma Lucia’s Pizza Shop in Pittsburgh City
Edwin Yu: I’ve eaten here bunch of times when I worked at a few blocks away. Their services fast, the staff are always friendly. Always check what they have for their daily specials. There Friday fish sandwich it’s something you’ve got to try. Their fries are almost always perfectly done
Craig Polchinski: I’ve been searching for over 5 years for a true New York style pizza in Pittsburgh and Mamma Lucia has been the best I’ve ever found. I grew up on Long Island eating NY pizza for over 20 years and this place is seriously just as good. Even the garlic knots are like NY. Not only that, their Sicilian is legit!! Besides a classic NY style pizza their Breaded Buffalo chicken is so good. The sandwiches (chicken parm) are surprisingly good as well. Makes me feel like I’m back in NY
Lavonda McLennan: They ALWAYS, ALWAYS gets the orders right AND always delivered quickly but the BEST part is, the food is ALWAYS GOOD AND the prices are reasonable! We order from here at least 2 times a week, they know us by name “Von” from FNB on Grant St.
